I just started making animated gifs. I'm using the lastest version of VLC player to auto cap and Photobie to make the animated gifs. The quality is not coming out good though.

I have DVDs of the Wire, which I would like to autocap, presumably on VLC.  I've looked around quite a bit and found what I thought were the right settings on Handbrake.  However, lo and behold, they weren't so correct, and the m4v file created has strange stripes through it.  See example below where Michael has stripes through his jacket.  One of ( Read more... )

I've noticed around that a lot of people use large animated "gifs" that are actually .jpg files. They seem to be larger files, but the quality is so, so much better. I use Photoshop CS5 and can only seem to save animations as .gif files, and even with a lot of dithering and 256 colours, they never save quite as nice ( Read more... )

I just got Adobe PhotoShop CS5 and I'm having some trouble with it. I really want to learn to make animations with it. I keep having to use ImageReady 7 and I'd rather uninstall it now and have some extra space in my hard drive. I tried to save my work as a .PNG file but When I try to save it there isn't even the option of me saving anything as .PNG. It has all the other formats except .PNG. I tried to upload the plug-in, but I don't know if I'm even doing it right. Can someone please help...

Again I'm having trouble with my program (I use Photoshop CS 5). When I save a PSD I name them accordingly (BASE - Photobox L.A. (1), BASE - Photobox L.A. (2) ect.) so that way when I save them as PNG files, they already have a name. i'm building a website, and some of my images are wayyyy too big in file size, but i can't seem to optimize any of the transparent images without losing quality.

any ideas on how to fix the problem?

i'm using photoshop cs and/or fireworks cs4, if that would be any help to you guys!
